My son turned 14. We celebrated all weekend. Friday night, delicious gourmet buffet dinner at the Avison Young Club before the Flames game, watch the game and cheer the Flames on to victory over the Red Wings.
We took the daughter of a friend. We spent a couple weekends camping with them over the summer and as we got to know her, discovered she had never been to an NHL game. We promised we'd take her to one, and this was a good one to see!

Saturday, real date of birth, we had some work to attend to: buying tickets for our upcoming Christmas production and selling raffle tickets for the hockey team at the mall. Then the evening brought a wonderful time to celebrate with a classmate. She was hosting her own birthday party and was delighted to share the honors with the birthday boy. As parents, we got to ride the coattails of the celebration and spend the evening with her parents, supervising the festivities "from a distance."

It was a lovely celebration weekend.
