Why He Lost His Wisdom at 14

Grumpy boy is still not back to 100 percent after his operation. A little irritable. I hope it's just low grade pain which will clear up before long and he'll be his bubbly "otter" self again - soon.

Someone asked why he had his wisdom teeth removed at such a young age. During his annual check up, the dentist did a panoramic x-ray which showed there was absolutely no space for wisdom teeth in his mouth. Only one had started breaking the gum. He recommended removal now because the roots had not yet involved the nerve. Once the nerve is involved, the possibility increases of permanent numbness after surgery.

The specialist confirmed the diagnosis and recommendation. My son was ready for it. Spring break was a good time for it. It made sense.
