Hawaii - Day 8

Ah, shucks.

I didn't get to see the North Shore. I woke up sick to my stomach with the bed floating in circles - at least that is what it felt like. I guess getting my land-legs back is harder than I expected. Either that or the KFC I wolfed down for supper last night didn't agree with me. The other four took a drive, Andrew served as navigator and they enjoyed a jaunt to the north shore and a stop at the Dole plantation.

I couldn't do anything but stay in bed all day. Slept most of it. Woke up at noon to "toss my cookies" and then I felt better. Brent had been kind enough to get me some saltine crackers and ginger ale so that helped a bit later in the day. By supper it was all over and we enjoyed a lovely buffet in a beautiful garden setting (Smorgy's). Though I wasn't nauseated any more, I was still reeling - not quite vertigo but really feeling off balance.

Yet, it kept getting better and after supper the three of us walked up and down any number of streets, shopping and spending and having a lovely time. I got the greatest lesportsac designed by a local Hawaiian artist.  That will help bring the souvenirs home.  :-)

I'm going to try to post some pictures... the free wifi is working better tonight.
