Quotes of Note

When kindness has left people,even for a few moments,we become afraid of them,as if their reason had left them. --Willa Sibert Cather

Alas! they had been friends in youth;
But whispering tongues can poison truth,
And constancy lives in realms above;
Life is thorny, and youth is vain;
And to be wrothe with one we love
Doth work like madness in the brain.
--Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Reason sits firm and holds the reins, and she will not let the feelings burst away and hurry her to wild chasms. The passions may rage furiously, like true heathens, as they are; and the desires may imagine all sorts of vain things: but judgment shall still have the last word in every argument, and the casting vote in every decision.
-- Charlotte Bronte

  1. That quote by Willa Cather gives me chills. I regret that I have sometimes been that person whom kindness has left.

    One of my favorite bits in the Proverbs 31 chapter is verse 26: "She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness." (NKJV)
