Humble?? By Whose Definition?

"I accept your comments humbly," she blogged.

"I accept your nomination with humility," he announced.

Who says?  Am I the judge of my own attitude? And do I have the chutzpah to announce to you what my attitude is?  See cartoon here.

Would I say "I accept your comments with resentment" or "I accept your rejection with bitterness"?  You get the idea.

We are to humble ourselves before God.  Also consider the Apostle Peter's directive here.

Referring to one's own humility, in my humble opinion, automatically ensures it is not. When we are most humble, we will not be aware of it, because we will not be thinking of ourselves.
