"God's will never leads you where his grace cannot keep you"

Hebrews 1:1-2 says: “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”

The book of John starts: “In the beginning was the word…” That Word is Jesus. The light, the way, the truth, the life. Not a light. The light. Not a way, The way. Not A truth, THE truth. He became flesh and blood to speak to us and his spoken words (while on earth) are recorded throughout the gospels. Over and over again he said, “I tell you the truth…” He is God and his Word is what we hold in our hands every time we pick up a Bible. Go there first, read it, meditate on it, memorize it, measure everything else we hear by His already-revealed-word in the scripture.

But he also speaks to me when I ask him not to. When I ignore his word. He speaks in movies, in songs, in circumstances, in pain, in ecstasy, in people, in the dark, in the light. Like radio frequencies, he is always there, permeating everything, I just have to tune into his frequency.

Remember Eve walked with God in sinless perfection and was still deceived when she listened to another voice.

September 2, 2009, I was approached about the idea of hosting a large women’s event at our church. I initially said yes and then panicked as I saw the workload. It was the encouragement and wise counsel of people from my life group and the women God’s placed in my path who shared ideas and vision and passion – all that kept me going. And God has blessed. He brought together a team of 12 dedicated women, all gifted in different areas. Each took their role and ran with it, full speed.

We budgeted for 300, and based on tickets sold, now expect 1,000 women to attend. I get to be here and watch it happen. I am shocked he has put me here, in spite of my (weakness, fear, overconfidence, naivety… you fill in the blanks) grateful he developed some of the skills I love using to do this, knowing that many of those skills developed because I had to learn from some bad mistakes. :-) Most of all I’m glad he still speaks. Still uses cracked pots. Still leads. He will accomplish his purpose (Isaiah 55:11). And he will be faithful to complete his good work in you (Phil. 1:6).

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." Isaiah 30:21
