the inbox echoes hollow
like an empty house
we’ve moved out
and moved on

gone our separate ways
a road diverged
in a yellow wood
a stream forced

to route itself
either side of the
great divide
and we are farther

apart than when
first we met
boxes of memories
lost enroute
