More on Mt. Indefatigable

Click here for the panoramic postcards of the Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes.

Our early morning departure was rewarded with wildlife encounters: deer, gopher and several moose including four in a group. The return trip netted groups of big horn sheep and a lone moose.

We were greeted at the parking area by the glory of Lower Kananaskis Lake. The trail follows the eastern facing ridge of Mt. Indefatigable. The hike is classed as strenuous, climbing 457 metres (1500 feet) over 3.9 km, giving spectacular views of the Kananaskis Valley. In past years it was often closed due to bear activity but there was no sign of any this year.
