Raclette

What is Raclette? A cheese, a lovely party, a unique type of dining experience. It originated with shepherds grabbing a loaf of bread and a hunk of cheese and heading for the hills with the herd. They'd melt the cheese over the fire and slather it on the bread (shades of Heidi's grandfather's cooking).

It has become a more expensive proposition with Raclette cheese running on the pricier side of the deli. However, it makes a delightful dinner party and we were privileged enough to be invited to one with a group of friends who own Raclette grills. You can grill meats and vegetables on the top while you melt the cheese in individual trays below the flame to pour over potatoes.

It was not on my allowed food list but I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. The conversation and laughter was even more rewarding.

Yeah, baby!
