Why Doesn't God Answer My Prayers?

I've been asked this, I've heard people ask this of others, I've even heard people say they don't believe in God because he didn't answer their prayers. Oswald Chambers (My Utmost for His Highest) addressed this issue in his February 7 entry:

Spiritual lust causes me to demand an answer from God instead of seeking God himself who gives the answer. The purpose of prayer is that we get hold of God, not of the answer.

Lord help me to seek only you, to love only you and not lust after an answer. Help me trust in your sovereign love and know you will give what is best in your time and in your way.
